Luis Barragán was a renowned Mexican architect known for his modernist and minimalist design aesthetic. He was born in 1902 in Guadalajara, Mexico and studied engineering before turning to architecture.
Barragán's work is characterized by the use of bold colors, clean lines, and geometric shapes. He is particularly known for his use of light and shadow to create a sense of tranquility and contemplation in his buildings.
Some of his most famous works include the Torres de Satélite in Mexico City, the Cuadra San Cristóbal equestrian estate, and the Casa Gilardi in Mexico City.
Barragán won the Pritzker Prize, the highest honor in architecture, in 1980. He passed away in 1988, but his influence on modern architecture continues to be felt to this day.
